A New Approach to Mental Clarity and Emotional Balance

We’ve always believed in treating the whole person at PureLee Redefined—not just the surface you see in the mirror. That’s why Dr. Kenya Lee and Dr. Marvin Lee are bringing something completely new to our Colorado Springs medical spa: Exomind Mental Wellness Therapy.

If you’ve been following aesthetic medicine for any length of time, you know the industry has expanded far beyond Botox and fillers. We’re seeing a shift toward comprehensive wellness—treatments that address not just how you look, but how you feel, function, and show up in your daily life.

Exomind represents that evolution. It’s an FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatment that uses advanced magnetic stimulation technology to support your brain’s natural ability to regulate mood, sharpen focus, and restore emotional balance, all without medication.

Why We’re Adding Mental Wellness to Our Services

Here’s what we’ve observed over years of treating patients: aesthetic concerns rarely exist in isolation. The person struggling with stress-related skin issues is also dealing with brain fog and poor sleep. The patient who comes in for body contouring mentions emotional eating patterns they can’t seem to break. The professional seeking facial rejuvenation is also navigating burnout and decision fatigue.

Your mental state affects everything—your skin, your sleep, your eating habits, your motivation to take care of yourself. And while we’ve always referred patients to therapists and psychiatrists when needed, we wanted to offer something more: a scientifically-backed, in-office treatment that directly supports brain health and mental wellness.

That’s where Exomind comes in.

What is Exomind?

Exomind uses transcranial magnetic stimulation (essentially, targeted magnetic pulses) to gently stimulate specific areas of your brain that regulate mood, focus, decision-making, and emotional control—kind of like a workout for your brain’s neural pathways.

The technology isn’t new. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has been studied and used clinically for decades. What makes Exomind different is the precision and comfort of the delivery system. Sessions are shorter (24-30 minutes), quieter, and more comfortable than traditional TMS. You sit in a chair, the device is positioned over your head, and you feel a gentle tapping sensation while magnetic pulses do their work.

There’s no anesthesia, no downtime, no systemic side effects like you’d get from medication. You can drive yourself to and from appointments, and most patients schedule treatments during lunch breaks or between other commitments.

Who is Exomind For?

While Exomind technology is FDA-cleared for Major Depressive Disorder, we’re primarily offering it as a mental wellness treatment—not as a replacement for psychiatric care.

If you have a diagnosed mental health condition like MDD, we’ll require that you’re actively working with a psychiatrist or therapist. Exomind can complement that care, but it doesn’t replace professional mental health treatment.

For most of our patients, Exomind is about optimization and wellness. You don’t need a diagnosis to benefit from better brain function. Exomind is ideal if you’re dealing with:

  • Chronic stress or feeling mentally overwhelmed
  • Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
  • Poor emotional regulation (quick to anger, frequent mood swings)
  • Racing thoughts or persistent worry
  • Trouble “shutting off” your brain at night
  • Emotional eating or food cravings driven by stress
  • General sense that your mental clarity isn’t what it used to be

In other words, if you’re functioning but not thriving—if you feel like your brain could use a reset—Exomind might be for you.

“Dr. Kenya is a true expert in her field—highly educated, incredibly professional, and genuinely passionate about her work. She took the time to walk me through every step of the process, making sure I felt informed, confident, and empowered. Her approach is collaborative and thoughtful; she listened closely to my goals, explained what would complement me, and provided guidance rooted in both science and aesthetics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a medical spa offering mental wellness therapy?

Because mental and physical health aren’t separate systems. We’ve watched the wellness industry fragment care for too long by sending patients here for their skin, there for their stress, and somewhere else for sleep issues, when all of these things are interconnected.

At PureLee, we want to be a place where you can address your whole self. If we’re helping you with aesthetic goals but you’re too stressed and foggy to enjoy the results, we’re only doing half our job. Exomind allows us to support the mental side of wellness with the same medical rigor we bring to everything else.

Is this the same as TMS for depression?

The technology is similar, but the application is different. Traditional TMS is typically used in psychiatric settings for patients with treatment-resistant depression. It involves daily sessions for 4-6 weeks.

Exomind uses an advanced version of that technology (called ExoTMS™) with a protocol designed for mental well-being: 6 sessions over 2-3 weeks, with optional maintenance every few months. It’s shorter, more targeted, and designed for people who want to optimize brain function rather than treat severe depression.

What does a treatment actually feel like?

The treatment is quite relaxing. You’re seated comfortably, and the device is positioned over your scalp. You’ll feel a gentle tapping or pulsing sensation. It’s not painful, and the vast majority of patients find it comfortable enough to rest, meditate, or listen to music during the session.

The treatment itself lasts 24-30 minutes. There’s no recovery period. You walk out and go about your day.

How is this different from medication or therapy?

Exomind isn’t a replacement for either medication or therapy, but serves as a complement.

Unlike medication, which affects brain chemistry throughout your entire system (often causing side effects like weight gain, fatigue, or sexual dysfunction), Exomind targets specific brain circuits. The stimulation is localized, so you don’t get systemic side effects.

Therapy helps you understand and work through challenges on a cognitive and emotional level, and that work is essential. Exomind approaches mental wellness from a different angle: the neurological level. It strengthens the brain’s wiring so that the insights and strategies you develop in therapy have a stronger foundation to build on.

Many patients use Exomind alongside therapy or medication. Others use it on its own as a wellness tool.

Do I need a mental health diagnosis to try Exomind?

No. Most of our Exomind patients won’t have formal diagnoses. This is a wellness treatment designed to help anyone who wants better mental clarity, improved focus, reduced stress, or more emotional stability.

However, if you do have a diagnosed mental health condition—particularly Major Depressive Disorder, severe anxiety, or OCD—we’ll ask that you work with a mental health professional concurrently. Exomind can absolutely be part of your treatment plan, but we want to make sure you have comprehensive support.

How long does it take to see results?

Most patients notice subtle improvements after 2-4 sessions. More significant changes typically become apparent within the full 6-session protocol (usually completed over 2-3 weeks)—better sleep, clearer thinking, less reactivity to stress.

The effects aren’t temporary. Exomind works by strengthening neural connections, so improvements tend to build and last. Many patients maintain results for months, with some choosing maintenance sessions every 3 months to sustain the benefits.
