What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers can be made from a variety of ingredients, including hyaluronic acid (HA), calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), and even your own fat. We use hyaluronic acid-based fillers, including Belotero, Juvéderm, Restylane, Revance RHA, and Revanesse Versa, at our medical spa because hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body and is what gives skin its firmness, fullness, and elasticity. Hyaluronic acid also has the benefit of stimulating collagen production in the skin over time, resulting in skin that looks younger and smoother in the months following treatment.
Restylane, Juvéderm, Versa, and Belotero are brands of injectable dermal fillers that use a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid to add volume to your skin and smooth out wrinkles. Unlike neuromodulator injections like Botox®, dermal fillers don’t affect your ability to make regular facial expressions, so your results both look and feel exceptionally natural.
We also offer Sculptra® Aesthetic, an FDA-approved dermal filler formulated with poly-L-lactic acid, to help add volume and support collagen production.
Are dermal fillers safe?
Belotero, Juvéderm, Restylane, Revanesse Versa, and Sculptra are FDA approved. Some minor side effects may occur such as redness or swelling. You may also see some bruising around the injection site which will typically subside in two to four weeks. More severe side effects are possible, but extremely rare.
Which areas can be treated with fillers?
Dermal fillers such as Restylane, Juvéderm, Revanesse Versa, Sculptra, and Belotero are FDA-approved to add volume to the cheeks and lips, and to smooth lines in the following areas:
- Nasolabial folds (“parenthesis”)
- Marionette lines
- Lip lines`
- Lower face (jowls)
- Décolletage
Tear trough (under-eye) filler is very common but is still considered an “off-label” use. Options for tear troughs can be discussed with our PureLee Redefined expert injector during your personal consultation.

Am I a good candidate for dermal fillers?
You may be a good candidate for dermal fillers if you:
- Wish to correct deep lines and folds visible when your face is at rest
- Are an adult in overall good health
- Are not pregnant or nursing
- Wish to avoid invasive surgery
- Want to enhance the quality of your skin
About your filler treatment
Before starting your dermal filler injections, your PureLee Redefined provider will discuss your aesthetic goals and perform a skin analysis to determine where and how many fillers you need for best results. All of our fillers contain a numbing agent to ensure your comfort during your injections. If you are concerned about any discomfort, you can ask your specialist to apply an additional topical numbing gel before your treatment.
Dermal filler injections typically take 15-60 minutes to complete, depending on your treatment area(s) and skin type.
What happens after my filler treatment?
The great thing about filler treatments is that there is no downtime involved! You can resume your normal activities immediately following your appointment. However, we may recommend that you avoid certain things, like strenuous exercise or sun exposure, for 24 hours after your procedure.
Your treated skin should begin to look smoother and fuller within 24-48 hours of treatment. Depending on the product used, filler results typically last between 6-12 months, with some fillers lasting up to 2 years.
