Whether you want to look your best for holiday parties or to ring in the New Year in style, a chemical peel may be just the thing for radiant, younger-looking skin.
Chemical peels
Most commonly applied to the face, neck or hands, a chemical peel involves applying a solution to exfoliate the outer layers of the skin. The dry old skin cells peel away leaving smoother, regenerated skin.
Types of chemical peels
There are several kinds of chemical peels available. The team at PureLee Redefined will guide you in selecting the chemical peel which is best suited to your needs. Vi offers a variety of peel formulations designed to address multiple skin concerns.
Vi peels
Although we do offer TCA and Glycolic/Salicylic chemical peels, the Vi Peel is our most popular. This treatment comes in a range of gentle options suitable for all different skin types and dermatological issues.
Alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) peels
An AHA peel is superficial and exfoliates only the outer skin layers. This treatment can improve your complexion while decreasing redness and smoothing the skin’s texture.
Glycolic peels
This peel is good for addressing age spots, skin discoloration, and fine lines.
Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peels
This peel aids in diminishing fine lines and wrinkles and also improves dark spots, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and other blemishes.
Chemical peel process
Before your chemical peel, there is a consultation to review your medical history including any medications you are taking and to evaluate your skin. We will answer all your questions and determine which type of peel is the best option for your skin type, issues, and personal objectives.
After your face has been deeply cleansed, your provider will begin applying the solution until all solution has been used or an appropriate endpoint is met. There may be a little ‘stingle’ associated with each layer but the team is skilled at maintaining your comfort so you do not need to worry about pain. After 4-6 hours, you’ll wash this solution off in the comfort of your own home. If a Vi Peel was administered, a home care kit is supplied with all that you need including medicated wipes, protective cream, and sunscreen.
Getting your skin ready for holiday parties
For most people, peeling will begin 3 days after the solution was applied but can range from day 2 to day 7. Peeling typically lasts 3-5 days and begins in the middle of the face, moving up and out. Peeling may occur in either sheets of skin or flaking but, either way, the skin will continue to work under the surface of your skin for weeks. After peeling is complete, your skin will feel renewed and appear brighter, and you’ll be ready to put your best face forward at your next holiday party. Now is the time to schedule your appointment at PureLee Redefined before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season begins.
